Mongolia has a strongly continental climate, with four fluctuations of temperatures, low precipitation and marked regional variations depending on latitude and altitude.
Mongolia enjoys an average of 250 days of sunshine each year. This is how the country became known as the Land of the Eternal Blue Sky.
Average temperatures range between around -4°C and -8°C in and between mountain ranges climbing to around 2°C in the steppe desert region and around 6°C in the southern desert bordering China.
Temperature varies dramatically throughout the year. Historically maximum temperatures have peaked at around 24°C in July, while January minimum temperatures drop to around -28°C. Annual precipitation rarely exceeds 400 mm and is typically much lower in the south and central desert and steppe regions. In the Gobi Desert, annual rainfall is only 40 mm. Nationally, an estimated 85% of precipitation falls between April and September. Small inter-annual variations in precipitation can lead to severe drought events, with some regions not experiencing rainfall at all.

A country where you can travel with peace of mind.
Mongolia is one of the few countries where you can travel peacefully. If you are invited by a Mongolian or a Mongolian family, you can visit them without any worries. Everyone, including women and children, can travel peacefully.
Some tips for good to know
However, it is better to be careful of drunk people in the capital and in rural areas.
The road markings are not good, so do not go alone, because Mongolia has a large territory and settlements are far away from each other, the possibility of getting lost is high, and it is difficult to predict the risk in this case.
But the phone network is everywhere, unless it's a remote suburb.
Guests and locals are treated with respect with tourists and the whole country can be regarded as a very safe destination for travelers. But you are advised to watch your belongings, avoid dark streets at night, and only use official taxis. Your safety is our first priority at NoNaTravel Mongolia.
Travelers will be able to find ATMs in Mongolian’s large cities and regional centers. Remote and rural areas will have less ATM availability, so prepare accordingly before venturing out of metropolitan or regional areas.
According to the WHO, tap water is safe for consumption for 81% of the country. (www.iswatersafetodrink.in/mongolia)
Bottled water is generally safe – check that the seal is intact at purchase. Tap water in Ulaanbaatar and other cities is considered bacteria-free, however antiquated plumbing means the water may contain traces of metals that won’t be good for your long-term health. Be cautious about drinking from streams and lakes, as they are easily polluted by livestock. Water is usually OK if you can get it high up in the mountains, near the source. If in doubt, boil your water.
* These provisions apply to all ages, and both vaccinated and unvaccinated.

The house is very easy and quick to set up and take down. It has many advantages, such as the best air exchange and good heat retention. Mongolians build their Gers facing south.

Mongolians are very hospitable and friendly people. They will not expect anything from you in return for their hospitality, but they will be happy to give them a handshake in gratitude. But in rural areas, especially children are happy when guests arrive, and gifts from guests make a special impression. You don't need to prepare a large or expensive gift. Children are interested in crayons, drawing tools, frisbees, balloons, coloring books, picture books in mongolian language, pick-up sticks, notebooks, and small games to play together.
